She has a standard small violin. I am trying to learn slowly as well, so I can relate a little when I help her practice. What could I start with? I live in a small town where there’s really nobody around for violin lessons. Any advice people?

Beginning to teach a two year old violin, with no teacher, when you don’t know violin yourself is gonna be tricky. I’d suggest getting violin CDs and playing them for her often, play the game where you clap a rhythm with your hands and she repeats it, stuff like that to get her thinking about music. You can start showing her how to make sounds and stuff on her violin, but you probably won’t get too far at such a young age anyways. When she gets older (about 4.5 or 5), is what i think is the best time to start, and to truly learn to play the violin, a teacher is pretty much a MUST, even if its just a local high school kid at first or something.
